Cleaning of Breast-pump parts
Sterilise all parts prior to first use and after each use, except pump motor, bra adjustment strap and USB-C Charging cable. Rinse and wash by hand using warm soapy water (parts cannot be used in the dishwasher). It is important to be gentle when cleaning the valve and silicone diaphragm as these components are fragile and if damaged, it can cause suction levels to drop. Do not insert any object as it may cause damage to the components to tear.
Rinse thoroughly, then sterilise and dry. The parts must be totally dry before assembling to pump.
All of our accessories are suitable for use in UV & steam sterilisers (Maximum 5 mins, do not exceed 100 degrees celsius). However please note that it is not recommended to sterilise the accessories under high heat for long hours as it might cause the material to degenerate quicker, shortening the lifespan of the parts.
** All V3 PRO WEARABLE BREAST PUMP components (duckbill valve, flange inserts, milk collector cup and silicone breast shield are not suitable for high heat sterilization such as microwave sterilizer and dishwasher as this will damage the components/accessories. **
Do not use any implements or cloths when washing the breast pump parts, as they may tear the delicate silicone parts.
Any damage caused by improper cleaning and maintenance method will void the warranty.
Please Note:
- If you are using the boiling method, please only allow pump parts to sit in boiling water for 5 minutes as anytime longer than this can damage the accessories. Allow parts to cool before next use.
- Please allow a maximum of 5-10 minutes drying time with UV sterilisers as over-sterilisation can damage the pump accessories.
N.B. The pump unit do not come in contact with the milk so they DO NOT need to be sterilised.
Caring for the battery:
The lithium battery should be kept at room temperature between 20-25 degrees and should never be subjected to elevated temperatures. Please do not leave the battery in or charged the breast pump in a hot car/ hot environment as heat reduces the lithium-ion battery life.
Batteries deteriorate over time whether they are being used or not. It is best to charge the pump after every use to preserve the battery life and do not allow the battery to goes completely flat.

● Duck Valve: Replace every 4-5 weeks, or when you notice any damage or decrease in suction
● Breastshield: Replace every 6 months, or when you notice any damage or decrease in suction
● Diaphragm: Replace every 6-8 weeks, or when you notice any damage or decrease in suction
Flange: Replace every 3-5 months, or when you notice any damage or decrease in suction
Why is my breast pump leaking from the flange when pumping?
It is important to ensure that your flange is completely sealed all the way around before using. When parts are not completely dry before assembly it may cause the silicone edge to not snap in place, in turn, causing a leak.
Heat sterilizing, or placing parts in dishwashers and microwaves are not recommended and may cause your silicone to warp out of shape, which may also cause leakage when pumping.
To avoid leakage from the flange hole, avoid leaning back too much whilst pumping, to prevent the milk to fall back rather that into the collection cup. It may also be caused by damage to your valve. If there is a tear or the split has opened too much, this will allow for milk to travel back up rather than enter into the cup.
Leaking when taking pump out of bra:
To avoid the bottom of your collection cup getting caught on your bra it is recommended to tilt forward 45 degrees and slowly pull out the pump after your session. Try to give yourself as much space, by either unclipping an extender or clip to take out the pump.
Why do I feel pain when I use the breast pump?
Experiencing pain whilst breast-pumping is certainly not what we want, There are many reasons why you may experience pain while expressing, such as:
Suction Level
The suction on the pump may be too high, please adjust the suction settings for a lower suction strength.
Cracked and sore Nipples
Your nipples may be cracked and is sore due to breastfeeding. If this is the case, stop using the breast pump for a while until your nipples have recovered.
N.B. If there is any soreness when pumping, please reduce the settings. Please apply some breast milk or nipple cream on the nipple and areola if there is pinching so that the breast does not stick to the silicone and cause further pain and bleeding.
Flange Sizes
Omababy V3 PRO comes with 24mm silicone shield and it comes with 2 complimentary flange inserts (19mm and 21mm) in order to provide maximum comfort during your pumping sessions.
The size of the shield's nipple area should be bigger than the nipple diameter. Always centre the nipple shield with your nipple in the middle where it is able to move freely so your milk-ducts don't get blocked.
